network This guide is based on the guide from babijoee over at XDA. I just wanted to post it here so that even more people can get a data connection in Android on their Touch Pro’s and Diamonds.

With a data connection you can go into settings –> Data synchonization and set up syncing with your google account to get your contacts and calendar information. You can then also use the Android Market and all other Android goodies!

The process is quite simple, but it may not work for everyone.

Read on for the full guide.

Step 1. Open your default.txt or startup.txt and add the bolded/underlined lines

set cmdline "root=/dev/ram0 init=/ console=tty0 mem=76M msmsdcc_id=3 zmgdevname=/dev/mmcblk0p1 imgdevnum=1 imgdir=/ msmts_calib=0x7a.0x5e.0x35a.0x37f clock-7x00.a11=528 ppp.apn=3services ppp.username=none ppp.password=none lcd.density=185 msmvkeyb_toggle=off"
boot

(The values of your connection is dependant on which country/service you are with.)
For details on your service check out these sites.
http://www.androidonhtc.com/carrier_network_settings

http://www.flexispy.com/Mobile%20APN...use%20GPRS.htm

http://www.niklaus.co.uk/blog/extras/APN_EN.html

Modify ppp.apn=******* ppp.username=******* ppp.password=******** according to your carrier.

Step 2. Enable your Data connection within WM and make sure its still active when you boot into Haret.
(Notice that your device may now be sluggish due to enabling data connection.)

Step 3.Once your in Android open the program tab and goto Settings>Wireless Controls>Mobile networks>Access Point Names
Now press the HW home button and add a new APN.
Enter your details from one of the 3 links above. Once you finished entering all details. press HW home button and save APN.
(Note that you will not be able to see the APN after you saved it. After all the steps in this and you achieve the connection, you then will see the APN details in there)

Step 4. Now goto Settings>Wireless Controls>Mobile Networks>Network Operators and reselect your carrier.

Step 5. Now go back to the Android Today screen and hold the Call End button and select Airplane mode and wait until you lose the signal.
Once the signal is gone hold the Call End Button and re-enable airplane mode.
At this point it is now just the waiting game.

Note: If you get a connection but it disconnects and connects, its probably due to your location. Try your connection outside or near metropolitan areas. Its not to you not following the guide correctly

If you have problems or questions, feel free to ask about over in the forums
